Here is a good sense of what the outside kitties have been getting up to. The long autumn is probably coming to a bit of an end here –there is a chill in the air and rain/snow in the forecast for later in the week. Before that happens, these kitties are having a lovely time in the dry leaves and sunshine.

This is really all about Tiglet. Because he is too sweet for words.
The kitties outside have been reveling in this nice cooler weather here. And I have another one of these gorgeous roses. The flowers are so good right now, and I can feel the edge of autumn in the air. I cut some flowers to bring inside –I usually end up bringing them in when I start to feel the weather shifting. I think it is an attempt to hang on to the blooming season.
We tried a recipe we haven’t tried before and I think it will be really yummy.
And here are two happy kittens after I finally stopped disturbing them with my lawn mowing.
Here are some pictures of happy kitties as the weather acts like it might start to turn to a bit cooler… it hasn’t really turned yet, but there is that slight feeling in the air.
That might be the perfect August trio: kitties lounging on grass in the heat, amaranth getting top heavy with its reddish purple heads, and the lush, unbeatable tomatoes.

The crunchy grass is also a part of August. Below is Tiglet, being busy as he usually is.
He did stop to have a look, and below is just so you don’t miss the Tiglet / Tiger staring out of those eyes. This throwback to a wild look is particularly amusing with him because is the sweetest softest cat.
These cherokee purple tomatoes are an heirloom variety (what a friend in London tells me is called heritage there). They are so beautiful and flavorful and a distinctive flavor. I like the flavor a lot –but the color is what really gets me. The greener ones here are not quite ripe. Yum.
The hostas are blooming and the bees love them. My bee pictures are not good. I will try to get better ones… but the blur of activity is a little appropriate. I also have this lovely lavender phlox that showed up alongside the peonies this year. I am not sure where this came from, but it is lovely.
The thunderstorm last night refreshed everything. It wasn’t that much rain, but it certainly feels better here. AND the grapes are ripening. Here are pictures of happy kitties.

The weather really has shifted momentarily here and it is cool. It did not rain though so I will be watering heavily today to try to make up for it. I cut the lawn yesterday and Tiglet posed in various places.
Below is Tiglet in two different views in the same seat, conveniently he turned himself to face in the opposite direction.
Above is little Minnie and Sidney –with just a tiny view of Pretty’s tail on the right. That is a pot filled with some hyacinth bulbs that I found in the basement. I had thought I was going to give up on them, but at the last moment stuck them in this pot. I don’t know if they will make it to blooming. Maybe I should put them in the front of the house so they get longer sun.

As July comes to a close, these moss roses are doing amazingly well. So many nice different colors and some stripes.
